The 2021 edition marked yet another step towards the regeneration of the village of Aielli which for the third consecutive year under the artistic direction of PalomArt involved international artists in the field of street art, music and performance, consolidating the Borgo Universo festival as one of the leading projects in Italy for the return to villages and the rebirth of territories through art.

Three new murals created by Agostino Iacurci, Millo and the Spanish street artist Marina Capdevila; extraordinary performances staged during the Festival by the London-based Italian artist Matlakas, the eclectic Portuguese visual artist Rapozo, the well-known actress and acting coach Anna Redi and the talented Neapolitan actress Piera Saladino; finally the music, perfectly in line with the artistic proposal of the Festival with the Brazilian drummer Juninho Ibituruna, the Portuguese producer of Cape Verdean origins Andre Xina, the Portuguese guitarist Joao Pires and the bassist Francesco Valente have guaranteed an international musical proposal with a strong underground nature aimed at pure experimentation.

Borgo Universo 2021 registered 45,000 visitors.
